词汇教学不仅仅要让学生掌握语音、语义及其在文中的用法,还要让学生知道其正确的搭配关系和形式以及词的语法特征,更要让学生掌握词的各种规则,如构词规则、使用规则,甚至要让学生掌握在词背后的文化内涵,以期达到让学生掌握词汇、使用词汇并会据此自我学习、自我扩充词汇的目的。因此在英语教学过程中如何有效地进行词汇教学,从而培养学生的思维能力,使学生主动、自觉地记单词,是我们每个教师应该不断认真思考的一个问题。根据我多年的英语教学实践,结合实际教学中出现的问题,我想谈谈对英语教学中词汇教学的一些思考和尝试。
一、词汇教学的重要性
【例】The high rate of species extinctions in these environments is jolting. 这些环境里物种灭绝率之高令人震惊。//The eel in the tank behind me can produce a strong jolt of electricity to stun its prey. 我背后鱼缸里的鳗鱼可以产生强烈的电流来击昏其捕食对象。
