Focusing on the amount produced, however, is based on the false assumption that quantity by itself is an appropriate judge of worth. In fact, the quality of a product is far more important, as we can see by looking at examples from current events and literature.

在E选项中，so作为连词，前面不应该再加上分号，而且so后面不是一个完整的句子，把becoming改为became才是句子。

这里的they显然是指一般的人，即汉语中的“大家”，在普通文法里这样说是一点问题都没有的。但SAT不能接受，必须把they改成people。SAT认为，代词所指代的对象必须是在句子中出现过的名词，不能让读者去猜想这个代词应该指代谁，哪怕这种猜想非常简单。

SAT倾向使用标准的书面体语言，不接受口语化或非正式文体的表达。如hopefully就被认为是口语化的词，正式的书面语中，要说I hope或she hopes等等。

首先排除A、B和C，因为在United States前是介词in，所以在Europe or Asian前也必须是个介词in，以构成平行。
